1) The vast majority of adverts you see offering online opportunities dont tell the full story. For example in today's Complete Sports there is an ad with the caption: "Make N200k monthly selling information online" Its for a seminar with a N7500 FEE. What a prospective attendee needs to ask among other things is:
a) How much money do I need to get started after I have paid the N7500 attendance fee?
b) Can the trainer share his own personal experience on how he got started?
c) How saturated is the market presently?

2) Most people expect to make money online without doing any work. Read this and never forget it. You cannot make money without working expect you have money and then give it to someone to do the work for you (investing). Even thieves have to work to get money.

3) It was Mrs Roosevelt who said" All success proceeds from some sort of action." You have to do something and continue to do that something and other things to make your online effort work.

4) Don't forget that if it was so easy to make money, EVERYONE would be rich.Unfortunately VERY FEW people are financially rich.

5) Without a "List" you can't make real and lasting money online.

6) There is a vast difference between selling information on how to make money online and actually making money online.

How I Turned N3000 to N200,000 in 6 weeks

It was a warm afternoon in April 2003, I was still operating from a Cyber Cafe in Mainland Lagos. The cafe I was using charged like N120 per hour. I had been browsing for like 4 hours, when I stumbled on a website that said it was offering "reseller hosting". I think it was edatarack.com or something like that.
I had never heard of the term. Uptill then I had offered my clients hosting with either of two offers:

1) Free hosting via Geocities ( Yahoo) or Netfirms
2) Paid hosting from $50 with Netfirms, Yahoo or any other webhost.

I had not made much from web hosting uptil that time.

To most people, such information right now might just be mundane, because I am sure as of this year 2009 almost everyone has heard of Reseller Hosting and we have all seen the adverts put up by SignOnAfrica, Mcreal, Domain Standard, Lagos Host and the rest, but in early 2003, this was not the case.

I did a little bit more of research on the reseller host and within an hour, I signed up for the service, paying I think $15 for a month. I then tapped into my "List" yes the mighty list without which no-one can make real money online.

In summary, between that day April 10th till about May 28th 2003, I turned my $15 ( N3000 or so) into over N200,000. By November 2003 ( 6 months later) with the benefit of hindsight we had become the largest webhost in Nigeria hosting over 250 domains. I didnt know anything about branding or unique DNS then, so webhost.info never really recognized us as the largest web host. As of March 2004 they recognized Mcreal .net with 220 domains as Nigeria's largest web host.

I started doing business online in 1999 when I was still in the University. Between then and now, over N20 million has passed through my hands. There is money to be made in online business and I am living witness to that reality.
